The Nokia 7705 Twist is a bit off the usual looks when considering mobile phones. It has a square like shape and employs a swivel out QWERTY keypad, while similar phones would use the more common slider. Not killer looks by any standard, but the phone doesn’t look bad either and may appeal to consumers looking to go the slightly different way. Verizon will start taking orders for the phone on the 13th of this month, and it will eventually reach stores on the 21st. The mobile phone will most likely cost $100 on contract after rebate.
The phone has a 3 megapixel camera, a “contact light ring” that glows up in case of a voice call or text message from a known contact. Then there’s 3G over EVDO, an HTML-capable browser to go along, though the phone misses out on a smartphone OS. Users can also customize the back shell with replaceable covers, with black and purple versions available on purchase of the handset.
