New Canon HD Camcorders, XH A1S and XH G1S, Announced

I’m very much into photography, so for me camcorders don’t have much of an appeal. However this one is interesting. Canon just announced two new HD camcorders, XH A1S and XH G1S both with some very interesting specs. And I’m talking about 20x HD video lens, manual zoom and focus, 60i / 30F / 24F frame rate options, instant auto focus (AF) technology, DIGIC DV II proprietary digital signal processor, two built-in XLR terminals both with separate and optional if you need it, HDD recording.

Other than these Canon XH G1S also packs HD-SDI / SD-SDI output, SMPTE timecode input / output, and genlock input. Prices start at $3,999 for XH A1S and $6,999 for the XH G1S, but if you’re a pro, I’m sure it would be worth it. – Canon
