Swordfish Net 102 Dual gets two Atom CPUs

Filed under: Laptops — joshua @ 10:11 am

The Swordfish Net 102 Dual Netbook Computer, as its makers call it, has the distinction of putting two 1.6 GHz Atom processors in one notebook, and probably is the only Netbook in the world with such a distinction. Other than the seemingly implausible show of the CPUs, the 10.2-inch netbook has a 2GB RAM, 160 GB hard disk, “dual Bluetooth” for tethering to smartphones, and WCDMA 3G cellular radio. The operating system on this one is Windows XP.

So there’s quite a lot of weirdness in the package, not to mention the little to no use extra CPU, and the strange “dual Bluetooth”. With such excesses, it would be unfair to expect the netbook’s 3-cell battery to hold out for long. A redeeming factor for the Swordfish Net 102 is a low price tag of $450.
