Sprint has announced that the Samsung Intrepid will be available on the network October 11 onwards. Like a number of phones announced recently, the Intrepid runs Windows Mobile 6.5, though it uses the professional version of the OS, rather than going with the standard version. This candybar phone has a full QWERTY keyboard, but also gets a 2.5-inch resistive touchscreen, with 320×240 resolution.
The Intrepid has a 3.2 megapixel camera, Microsoft Office Mobile, GPS, GSM for International use, WiFi, EVDO Rev.A, stereo Bluetooth, and a microSD card slot with up to 32GB of storage. To enhance internet experience on the mobile phone, the Intrepid gets Internet Explorer Mobile with Flash Lite, and integration with Facebook, Twitter and Flickr. Sprint has priced the Samsung Intrepid for $149.99 with a two-year contract, which includes rebates.
