JVC has unveiled a new range of high-end projectors. The D-ILA home theater projectors will be available in six models. The most impressive feature in the range is the contrast ratio these projectors offer, the top of the line RS35 and HD990 have a contrast ratio of 70,000:1, while the entry level HD550 also has a good contrast ratio of 30,000:1.

Other models in the range include the RS15 with a 32000:1 contrast ratio and the RS25 and HD950 with 50,000:1 contrast ratio each. The top four models are all THX certified, and can perform very well in home theater environments. These models will be capable of handling a wide range of video content at maximum resolution, and also interpolate colors separately in three-axis of color phase, chroma saturation and brightness for better picture quality.

All models are equipped with high-performance 1.4 – 2.8:1 zoom lens with motorized focus, manual adjustment of gamma curve, and compliance of HDMI version 1.3. The projectors will be available this month, with the entry level HD550 priced at $5000, RS15 for $5500, RS25 and HD 950 at $8000 and the top end RS35 and HD990 at $10,000.
