HTC has announced the coming of its latest smartphone, and its new flagship, the HD2. The new mobile phone will run Windows Mobile 6.5, and have a 4.3-inch capacitive touchscreen. The touchscreen has a 800×480 resolution LCD, and is the largest touchscreen amongst the smartphones, also, the capacitive touchscreen is much more sensitive and responsive as compared to the resistive ones. Moreover, the multi-touch screen can respond to a number of gestures, like pinching and flicks, much like the iPhone.
Other features include a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 448MB RAM, 5 megapixel camera, WiFi, GPS, microSDHC storage, 3.5mm headphone jack and 7.2mpbs HDSPA for 3G. The phone will be available on European carriers by the end of this month, and while it currently does not support North American 3G bands, there’s no doubt that HTC’s new phone will make way across the Atlantic sooner or later.
