Honeywell’s Altura LE series HDTV: An 82-inch LCD giant

Filed under: Displays — Ionica @ 10:28 am

Not many electronic companies from the US often dish out giant LCD screens and electronic gadgets with plenty of pomp. But Honeywell decided to change that convention with a little bit of aid in technological know-how from Taiwanese firm SOYO, by unleashing a 82-inch LCD giant as apart of its Altura LE series.

Coming in sizes of 47”, 57”, 65”, 70” and 82” they are all Full HD Ready with the largest of the lot sporting 16:9, 120Hz LCD panel resolution display that’s capable of 120,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, 600 cd/m2 brightness and 178-degree viewing angle.

But this does not yet mean that Honeywell is competing with big boys as they just seem to be aiming to cut into the domestic market share and the 82-inch behemoth seems more like a beacon that will attract publicity to market the smaller versions at affordable prices and as more appealing designs than what is on offer in the market today. The plan seems to be working for now!
